Following the success of our first event, Kickass Women 2.0 returned, bigger and bolder, just before the world hit pause for COVID. We built on the momentum, bringing together an even more diverse lineup of changemakers, creatives, and entrepreneurs to share their stories, insights, and hard-won wisdom.
The event featured dynamic panels, thought-provoking discussions, and hands-on workshops, covering everything from business and leadership to creativity, activism, and personal growth. We continued our mission to amplify underrepresented voices, ensuring that women of colour, LGBTQAI+ leaders, and working-class voices had a platform to inspire and be heard.
Kickass Women 2.0 wasn’t just about inspiration. It was about action, connection, and creating a movement that lasted beyond the day. The energy in the room was electric, setting the stage for what should have been the next evolution. COVID put everything on hold, but the impact of that event still resonates, and the need for spaces like this is stronger than ever.
In 2019, I co-founded Kickass Women with Sunetta Kiarie to create a platform for women who are making an impact, no matter their industry. From charity leaders and small business owners to freelancers and entertainers, we wanted to amplify the voices of those often underrepresented, including women of colour, working-class voices, and the LGBTQAI+ community.
Our first year centred on the theme of “Balance”, exploring both the benefits and challenges of gender equality. It was a chance to spotlight the trailblazers in our own backyard, the women of Brighton who have relentlessly pursued their passions and created real change.
The event brought together speakers from business, non-profits, food, and entertainment, creating a space for meaningful conversations, connections, and inspiration.
After a pandemic-induced pause, Kickass Women 3.0 marked a powerful return. This edition brought together an inspiring mix of women from across industries, sharing their stories of resilience, reinvention, and the power of community.
The event featured thought-provoking talks, honest conversations, and plenty of energy, covering everything from business and leadership to creativity, activism, and personal growth. More than just a day of talks, it was a space for connection, support, and action.
Kickass Women 3.0 proved once again that when women come together, incredible things happen.
What started as a one-off event has become a movement. Now in 2025, Kickass Women is still going strong. The conversations continue, the community keeps growing, and the impact is bigger than ever.
